Residential
Residential Visits at Woodside
At Woodside, we believe that residential experiences are a powerful and transformative part of childhood. They build confidence, independence, teamwork and resilience in ways that classroom learning alone cannot achieve. Residentials sit at the heart of our commitment to helping every child “live life in all its fullness” (John 10:10) — offering memories, friendships and opportunities that last a lifetime.
We are proud to offer four high‑quality residential experiences across Key Stage 2, ensuring every child has the chance to grow, explore and flourish beyond the school environment.
Our KS2 Residential Programme
Across Key Stage 2, children experience a carefully designed progression of residential visits:
Year 3/4 – Frank Chapman Outdoor Centre
A first residential filled with adventure, nature and confidence‑building activities such as bushcraft, orienteering, night walks and team challenges.
Year 3/4 – Ingestre Hall (Arts Residential)
A unique and inspiring creative residential where pupils immerse themselves in dance, drama, visual arts and music, culminating in high‑quality artistic outcomes and unforgettable shared experiences.
Year 5/6 – Laches Wood
An exciting outdoor and adventurous residential where children further develop teamwork, communication and resilience through activities such as climbing, problem‑solving and water‑based challenges.
Year 5/6 – Whitemoor Lakes
A final, confidence‑building residential that promotes teamwork, leadership and independence through climbing, abseiling, archery, raft‑building and a variety of challenges that prepare pupils for the next stage of their journey.
