Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care at Woodside

At Woodside, we believe that happy, safe and supported children learn best. Our pastoral care sits at the heart of our school and is something we are deeply proud of. We work closely with families, building strong, trusting relationships so that every child and every parent knows they are never facing challenges alone.

Our ethos is simple: we care, we listen, and we act. Together, we create the wrap‑around support that helps every child thrive.

Who Oversees Pastoral Support?

All pastoral support at Woodside is overseen by Mrs Sharon Day, Pastoral Lead & SENCO Assistant.
Mrs Day coordinates the whole pastoral offer across school and works closely with the Headteacher, safeguarding team, attendance officer, class teachers and external partners to ensure that children and families receive timely, personalised support.

Meet Our Pastoral Team

  • Mrs Sharon Day – Pastoral Lead & SENCO Assistant
  • Mrs King – Attendance & Office Manager

Whether a concern is school‑related or connected to family life, our pastoral team is here to help. We are proud of the strong relationships we build with children and families, offering compassion, understanding and practical solutions.

How We Support Children and Families

Our pastoral team provides:

  • Emotional check‑ins and mentoring
  • Nurture and wellbeing support
  • Help with routines, friendships and behaviour
  • Early help referrals and multi‑agency links
  • Attendance support
  • Guidance for parents and carers
  • A listening ear whenever you need it

We are incredibly proud of how our pastoral care makes a difference—helping children feel safe, confident and ready to learn, and supporting families during times of need.
