We are proud to announce that we are a myHappymind Bronze Accredited school!
This means that as a school we consider the mental health and wellbeing of our children as one of our top priorities. We have created a whole school culture that helps build our children’s resilience, confidence and self esteem as well as teaching them how to self regulate in those stressful times.
This Accreditation badge has been awarded thanks to all the effort our staff, children, governors and parents have put in to bring the lessons of myHappymind to life all around our school!

At Woodside, we believe that supporting children’s wellbeing is not an optional extra — it is a crucial part of helping every child “live life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). As part of our commitment to nurturing healthy minds, strong relationships and resilient learners, we are proud to be a myHappymind School. myHappymind is a science‑ and research‑based programme that teaches children how their brain works, how to manage emotions, build positive habits, develop resilience and grow a healthy sense of self. It supports children to understand themselves, care for their mental health, and develop lifelong strategies for wellbeing.
Why We Use My Happy Mind We chose myHappymind because it aligns perfectly with our vision and values. At Woodside, we want every child to know: They are loved They are valued They are capable They can grow Their wellbeing matters Their mental health is important They can make a positive difference in the world
My Happy Mind empowers children to understand how to look after both their body and their mind, giving them tools they can carry with them into the future. What My Happy Mind Teaches The programme promotes positive mental health through five key modules: Meet Your Brain Children learn how the brain works and how emotions affect their thoughts, feelings and actions.
Celebrate A focus on character strengths helps children recognise what makes them unique and special. Appreciate Children practise gratitude and positive thinking, which boosts happiness and emotional wellbeing.
Relate Pupils learn how to build healthy relationships, resolve conflicts and communicate effectively. Engage This module supports goal‑setting, resilience and developing a growth mindset. These tools help children manage stress, build confidence, and approach challenges with optimism.
A Proactive Approach to Wellbeing We don’t wait for children to struggle before offering support.
At Woodside, we believe in being proactive — equipping children with the knowledge and habits they need to flourish emotionally, socially and academically. myHappymind helps us to: Teach emotional regulation Build resilience from the earliest age Promote healthy sleep and self-care habits Strengthen classroom relationships Reduce anxiety Embed mindfulness and relaxation techniques Encourage positive self‑talk and self‑belief This approach supports not just children’s learning, but their spiritual, emotional and social development — reflecting our vision of helping every child grow into the person God intended them to be.
Linked to Our Christian Vision and Values Our school vision — “Together in God’s love we inspire and grow through living life in all its fullness.” — is lived out through myHappymind.
The programme complements our Christian values of: Love – caring for ourselves and others Respect – understanding differences and treating everyone with dignity Hope – believing that challenges can be overcome Perseverance – building resilience and determination Courage – trying new things and facing fears Compassion – supporting one another through struggles Through myHappymind, children learn to nurture their own wellbeing so they can show love, kindness and empathy to others.
A Whole-School Culture of Flourishing myHappymind is embedded into daily life at Woodside through: Weekly lessons in every class Supporting language used across school Techniques practised during the school day Parent access to the myHappymind app Strategies used by staff as part of our wider pastoral approach It forms a key part of our vision to develop well‑rounded, emotionally healthy, spiritually grounded young people who are ready for the next stage of their journey.
At Woodside, wellbeing matters. At Woodside, every mind matters. Together, we grow.
