Headteacher’s Welcome

It is a true privilege and a joy to be the Headteacher of Woodside C of E Primary School. Every day, I feel proud to lead a school that is a beacon of light within our village—serving, supporting and uplifting our community. Woodside is so much more than a school; it is a family, rooted in love, ambition and togetherness.

At the heart of all we do is our Christian vision:
“Together in God’s love, we inspire and grow through living life in all its fullness.” – John 10:10

This vision is lived out in every classroom, every relationship and every decision we make. We believe deeply in growth for all—children, staff, families and our community. Growth in character, growth in confidence, growth in faith, growth in knowledge and growth in aspiration.

Our aim is not simply to focus on outcomes, but to nurture well‑rounded, compassionate and resilient young people who flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

From the moment children join us at age two in Nursery, right through to Year 6 when they prepare to take their next steps into secondary school, we embrace the privilege of shaping their journey. We want every child to know they are valued, loved, capable and unique. We want them to leave Woodside ready for the world—curious, confident and ready to keep growing.

I am especially proud of our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP), which offers eight places for children with EHCPs for communication and interaction needs. Our SRP provides a bespoke, highly personalised curriculum within a nurturing mainstream environment, enabling children to thrive academically and socially as full members of our Woodside family. This provision, supported through Warwickshire, is a cornerstone of our inclusive, loving ethos.

After a three‑year transformation journey, our Ofsted inspection in May 2024 recognised the strength, dedication and passion of our school community. We were judged:

  • Good overall
  • Outstanding in Leadership & ManagementBehaviour & Attitudes, and Early Years
  • Good in Personal Development and Quality of Education

This outcome reflects the unwavering partnership between our staff, families, governors, church and community—and most importantly, the spirit and determination of our children.

Woodside is a place where every child is known, seen and celebrated. A place filled with warmth, ambition and opportunity. A place where we love one another, inspire one another and challenge one another to be the very best we can be. A place where life in all its fullness is not just a verse—but a way of living and learning together.

We are always delighted to welcome visitors into our school. What you see when you walk through our doors is exactly what happens every single day at Woodside—joyful learning, caring relationships, high expectations and a community that feels like family. If you would like to experience our school in action, I would be delighted to show you around.

Welcome to Woodside.
Together, we grow.

Kind regards
